    A22 lane machine

    Wednesday, February 6, 2008, 10:19 AM [General]

The training for the A22 lane machine was moved to Las Vagas..Brunswick and the PBA had first picked Muskeegon,Mich which is right on the  lake..I wasn't looking forward to Muskeegon in late Jan..Las vagas was a much better place for the 2 day class..

I was in L.V. from Sun. Jan. 20th until Fri Jan. 25th.. Mon and Tues The regional lanemen and the regional managers attended classes on the A22..

Dave DiRito and Dale Hesser were the Brunswick reps who presented the instruction..Both were knowledgeable, articulate, and able to keep things moving along at a good pace..

The classes took place at the Red Rock casino, resort, and bowling center..We were in the 12 lane VIP section of Red Rock Lanes..The PBA exempt doubles were taking place in the 60 lane portion of the center at the same time..

I was able to stay until Fri evening and watch the Tournament Of Champions also held at Red Rock.. The PBA made a great decision to expand the field to include HOF's and past winners..

My new A22 should be delivered to Crosley Lanes in Vancouver, Wa in late Feb. or early March.. Crosley Lanes is were I keep my machine and supplies..

I'll begin using the A22 at the start of the new regional season in April..I'll then be using the same machine, conditioners and cleaner as the national tour..

    Regional update

    Friday, November 16, 2007, 07:54 PM [General]

How time flies when you're having fun..

My season is over for the rest of this year..I don't do the lanes for another regional until the 1st weekend in Feb of 2008..

The national tour patterns produced lower scoring overall. There were some very low scoring events and a couple of high scoring affairs..

Here are some stats for the last 11 tournaments in the NW and NW/West combined..

658 entries and 304 players were even or above..That is 46%
    I used Viper Twice; 153-75- 49%
             Shark Twice; 127-32- 25%
     Chameleon Twice; 150-56- 37%
          Scoripion Twice; 94-57- 60%
         Cheetah Twice; 103-68- 66%
                  RPI Once; 31-16- 51%

There are 2 tournaments left in the points race for the exempt spot..The first is in Reno and Runs Dec. 7th-9th, 2007..The event is in the National Bowling Stadium..The last event is in Grants Pass, Or Mar 14-16, 2008..It is held in Caveman Bowl and hosted by Kevin Croucher..

Top point finisher receives an exemption to the 2008-2009 PBA Tour.2007-2008 Exempt Tour Players do not receive points for the 2007-2008 PBA Regional Tour.)                                    Pos. Name - Hometown #Events Points 1. Rogers Jr, Chester - Milwaukie, Ore 15 138,771 2. Husted, Corey - Clackamas, Ore 15 130,462 3. Tuholski, Craig R. - Washougal, Wash. 11 125,580 4. Sometime before the start of the next regional season(April 1, 2008)I will be going to Muskeegon, Mi.. There I will be trained how to use and maintain the Brunswick Authority-22 lane  machine .. Brunswick will provide lane machines, supplies and technical support to the National and Regional tours..Brunswick has been doing this for the last 3 years, but we were using Kegel machines..

With the introduction of the A-22 to the Regional Tour we will be using the same machine, conditioners and cleaner as the National Tour..
